November 2025 Meeting

Wor. Richard Elliot accepted a donation on behalf of the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum and Library

The November meeting of The Henry Price Lodge was an evening filled with fellowship and reflection. As part of our Annual Meeting, the Lodge took the time to review the accomplishments of the past year and was pleased to hear that we remain in a position of great financial, administrative, and fraternal health. The continued growth and enthusiasm within our membership are clear signs that our Lodge is thriving, thanks to the dedication of so many active and committed Brothers.

The Worshipful Master presented Bro. João Silva with his Masonic diploma

During the meeting, the Lodge proudly made a charitable donation to the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum and Library, supporting their ongoing work in preserving and promoting the history of Freemasonry in America. As the custodian of many artifacts, documents, and stories that define our Craft, the Museum and Library continue to educate both Masons and the public on the enduring influence of our fraternity. Our contribution reflects The Henry Price Lodge’s commitment to philanthropy and to preserving the legacy of Freemasonry for future generations.

Wor. Robert Jackson presented his talk entitled "The Darkened Square: Applying Masonic Teachings to the Darkened Spaces of the Mind, A Brother’s Perspective”

We were also treated to a thought-provoking presentation by Worshipful Rob Jackson, whose remarks encouraged all present to reflect on how Masonic lessons can be lived out beyond the Lodge room. His message served as a meaningful reminder that Freemasonry is more than ritual; it is a lifelong practice of self-improvement, integrity, and service to others.

Following the meeting, Brethren gathered for a wonderful dinner and an evening of conversation and fellowship. The dining hall was alive with laughter and discussion, underscoring the strong bonds of friendship that make The Henry Price Lodge such a vibrant Masonic community.

As the Lodge looks ahead to the December meeting and beyond, we remain grateful for the dedication of our officers and members who continue to keep the Lodge active, welcoming, and true to the principles of our Craft.

Honoring a Giant in Freemasonry – October at The Henry Price Lodge

At our October Communication, The Henry Price Lodge gathered to honor the life and legacy of Right Worshipful Ernest A. Pearlstein with a heartfelt memorial service and a large donation to Shriners Children’s Boston. The evening was filled with reflection, gratitude, and fellowship, celebrating a Brother who brought joy to all who knew him.

Brothers, friends, and famliy joined to celebrate the life of R.W. Ernest A. Pearlstein

There are moments in the life of a Lodge that remind us what Freemasonry is truly about. Our October Communication was one of those moments.

The Henry Price Lodge gathered to honor the life and legacy of Right Worshipful Ernest A. Pearlstein, a man whose impact on Massachusetts Freemasonry cannot be overstated. A mentor to many and a friend to all, Ernie exemplified the very best of our Craft through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering enthusiasm for the fraternity.

The evening began with a heartfelt in-memoriam service, during which brethren shared stories of Ernie’s warmth, humor, and dedication to Masonry. Ernie was no stranger to the camera and never failed to put a smile on everyone’s faces. His legacy of joy and generosity continues to inspire us all.

In his memory, The Henry Price Lodge proudly presented a $5,000 donation to Shriners Children’s Boston, our largest philanthropic contribution to date. This act of charity honors Ernie’s lifelong commitment to helping others and embodies the Masonic principles of Brotherly Love and Relief. We were especially honored to welcome more than two dozen family members and friends from Aleppo Shriners, who joined us in celebrating a life so well lived.

The evening was also one of celebration and accomplishment within the Lodge. We were proud to recognize a Brother marking his 70th anniversary in Freemasonry, an extraordinary milestone that reflects a lifetime of dedication to the Craft. In addition, the Lodge installed its remaining officers for the year and presented Masonic diplomas to two newly raised Master Masons, officially welcoming them as full members of our fraternity. These moments remind us that while we honor the past, we also continue to build our future with strength and purpose.

The night was filled with remembrance, gratitude, and fellowship, a fitting tribute to a Brother who gave so much to the Craft and to those fortunate enough to know him. It was, without question, an evening to remember.

As The Henry Price Lodge continues to grow in strength, purpose, and community involvement, we carry forward the light of Brothers like R.W. Ernest A. Pearlstein, whose example reminds us of what it means to be a Mason both within and beyond the Lodge room.

June 2025 - Celebrating a Strong Finish to the Masonic Year

June was a month of monumental significance for The Henry Price Lodge, as we concluded our Masonic year with not one but two memorable meetings.

The Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts, Most Worshipful George F. Hamilton, with Wor. Evan S. Fisher and the Lodge’s three newest Master Masons, Bro. Leegoir Berthaud, Enrique Gamboa, and Adam Cruz

June was a month of monumental significance for The Henry Price Lodge, as we concluded our Masonic year with not one but two memorable meetings. These meetings marked the culmination of our efforts to raise six worthy Brothers to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Congratulations to Bros. Leegoir Berthaud, Adam Cruz, Enrique Gamboa, Marcio Lopes Jr., João Silva, and Ethan Sweetland. Their journey is just beginning, and we look forward to them being active members of our Lodge.

Tuesday, June 3rd – A Grand Evening

Our first meeting of the month was a true highlight. We had the distinct honor of welcoming the Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts, accompanied by his distinguished suite. The reception was made even more special by the presence of a dozen Past Masters of our Lodge. Their collective experience and continued support reflect the strength of our Brotherhood and the lasting bonds we share.

We were also joined by members of Sinim Lodge, based in Tokyo, Japan, under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. These Brothers graciously served as our Gates and Junior Warden for the evening. Several "rusty" Brothers also returned to join us, bringing renewed energy and familiar faces to the Lodge room.

The degree was conferred with precision and care, and the evening concluded with a warm and festive dinner, where stories and fellowship flowed freely.

Saturday, June 14th – Finishing Strong
Just eleven days later, we returned for a Special Communication to raise our remaining three candidates. This meeting was no less meaningful, as we completed the journey to Master Mason for this fine group of men.

Bro. João Silva, Bro. Ethan Sweetland, Wor. Gianni Wong (TML), Wor. Evan Fisher, Bro. Marcio Lopes Jr., and Bro. William Harmer (TML)

We were pleased to welcome visitors from The Massachusetts Lodge, for whom we conferred a courtesy degree. The spirit of cooperation and Brotherhood was on full display, as a few of their members helped out during the degree.

After the degree work concluded, we gathered for lunch and fellowship, celebrating not just the conferral of degrees but the conclusion of an exceptional Masonic year.

Spring 2025

Spring 2025 has brought with it longer days and warmer weather and the unmistakable light of Masonic fellowship, purpose, and progress.

As the season of renewal unfolded around us, so too did a season of exceptional activity and growth at The Henry Price Lodge. Spring 2025 has brought with it longer days and warmer weather and the unmistakable light of Masonic fellowship, purpose, and progress.

A Season of Advancement and Welcome
In April, we had the privilege of passing five of our Brothers to the Degree of Fellowcraft. Congratulations to Brothers Leegoir Berthaud, Adam Cruz, Marcio Lopes Jr., João Silva, and Ethan Sweetland on reaching the Middle Chamber. Their dedication to the Craft and their personal journeys inspire us all.

True to our values, April also included moments of both giving and reflection. The Lodge made a meaningful donation to Partners for Youth with Disabilities, a Greater Boston nonprofit empowering young people with disabilities through mentorship, inclusion, and opportunity.

Later in the evening, we held a touching in-memoriam service in honor of a departed Brother, joined by his family members. It was a solemn and heartfelt reminder that the bonds we form in the Craft endure beyond this life.

Members of the Lodge took part in our third annual Earth Day Cleanup of the Boston Esplanade, helping to beautify one of the city's most cherished green spaces. Despite the rainy day, with gloves on and trash bags in hand, we proudly contributed to keeping our community clean, vibrant, and welcoming.

In May, we welcomed a new affiliate member, Brother Anthony Dionisi, into our Lodge family. We also continued our tradition of service with a charitable gift to St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children. We were honored by the Fraternal Visit of Right Worshipful Daniel L. Taylor, District Deputy Grand Master of the First Masonic District. His support and kind words about the strength and activity of our Lodge were greatly appreciated.

We are growing in numbers, deepening our bonds, and making a difference in our community.

If you haven’t been to Lodge in a while, there’s never been a better time to come home. The light is bright, and it’s shining strongly every day.

Welcoming New Brothers

At our March meeting, we had the privilege of initiating four outstanding men into our Fraternity. Congratulations to Bro. Adam Cruz, Bro. Leegoir Berthaud, Bro. Marcio Lopes Jr., and Bro. Ethan Sweetland! Additionally, we welcomed Bro. John Allison as an affiliate member and voted on one more candidate for the degrees—who will soon be caught up and join this already large and engaged class.

Honoring a Masonic Milestone

Wor. Steven M. Goldberg, celebrating 60 years a Mason!

March also allowed us to recognize an incredible achievement within our Fraternity. We proudly celebrated Wor. Steven Goldberg’s 60th Masonic anniversary. As a 50-Year Past Master of Aberdour Lodge, Wor. Goldberg has dedicated decades to the Craft, serving as an example of commitment, leadership, and the lifelong journey of Masonry.

Braving the Cold for a Worthy Cause

Members and guests of The Henry Price Lodge at SMD-H.E.L.P. on Saturday, March 8th

Service to our community remains at the heart of our Lodge, and on a particularly blustery day in March, a dedicated group of volunteers demonstrated this commitment. Members of our Lodge, alongside Brethren from another Boston Lodge and prospective members interested in joining Freemasonry, gathered to support SMD-H.E.L.P. Despite the cold and gusting winds, our volunteers served over 100 cars and distributed more than 200 pieces of medical equipment to those in need. This event was a shining example of how we put our Masonic values into action—supporting and uplifting our neighbors, no matter the weather.

The Henry Price Lodge is thriving, and we are proud of the work we continue to accomplish together.

Another important component of the event was the "State of the Lodge" presentation. This provided an opportunity to update our Florida-based members on the health and progress of The Henry Price Lodge. We shared our recent achievements, upcoming initiatives, and future goals, ensuring that all members—near or far—remain connected and engaged with our Lodge’s mission and activities.

This event was a tremendous success, and we are pleased to announce that it will now once again be an annual tradition. The enthusiasm and support we received reaffirmed the importance of maintaining this connection with our Brethren in Florida. We look forward to gathering again next year and continuing to celebrate the enduring bonds of our Fraternity.

The start of a new year offers the perfect opportunity for reflection, renewal, and re-commitment to the values that define us as Freemasons. The January Regular Communication of The Henry Price Lodge set a hopeful and productive tone for 2025, with a blend of philanthropy, progress, and education that underscores our dedication to making a positive impact.

As part of our ongoing commitment to serving the community, the lodge made a philanthropic donation to the Charlestown YMCA. Supporting organizations that promote health, well-being, and community engagement aligns deeply with our mission of relief and charity.

In another exciting step forward, the lodge read three applications for membership. This signifies not only the growth of our lodge but also the enduring appeal of Freemasonry in today's world. We eagerly look forward to welcoming these potential new Brothers into our fraternity and continuing to build our legacy together.

Adding a thoughtful and inspiring element to the evening, R.W. Donald Stevens delivered an educational talk titled "What was the Star of Bethlehem?" The presentation explored the scientific and symbolic perspectives surrounding this fascinating topic, reminding us that, as Masons, we should be general lovers of the arts and sciences.

In recognition of his steadfast support, we presented R.W. Connelly and R.W. Peter Lawson with a token of our appreciation: a limited-edition silver lapel pin commemorating our lodge’s name change.

Accompanying the District Deputy Grand Master was an impressive suite, including three of the four Grand Warden candidates. As the leaves change and the crisp air heralds the arrival of autumn, The Henry Price Lodge has embraced the spirit of the season with activities that reflect our commitment to service, brotherhood, and honoring service.

Giving Back to the Community

In late October, members of The Henry Price Lodge and a few other lodges volunteered with the SMD Hospital Equipment Loan Program (H.E.L.P.) in Woburn, MA. This vital initiative provides medical equipment to those in need, fostering accessibility and care within our community. Over the course of just three hours, our team assisted over 100 vehicles, ensuring that recipients received the tools they needed to support their health and independence. The energy and camaraderie displayed by our brethren underscore the power of collective effort to create meaningful impact.

Welcoming a New Brother

November also marked a significant milestone within our Lodge as we welcomed Brother Enrique Gamboa into our Fraternity. During the solemn and inspiring Entered Apprentice Degree ceremony, Brother Gamboa took his first step on his Masonic journey. Please join us in congratulating our new Brother! We are excited to support Brother Gamboa as he embarks on this path of enlightenment and fellowship.

Honoring Service and Sacrifice

In early November, we had the district honor to present the General George Washington Military Service Medal to Brother Robert Shurdut. Brother Shurdut was an active member of United Lodge and has been a Mason for over 60 years. He served in the Navy Seabees for many years. This award recognizes Masonic veterans who have served their country with distinction, exemplifying the values of duty, honor, and patriotism. Brother Shurdut’s dedication to both his nation and the Fraternity stands as an inspiration to us all.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on these activities, we are reminded that autumn is not just a time for reflection but also for growth and preparation. With the holiday season approaching, we are excited to continue our mission of supporting our members and the broader community. The Henry Price Lodge remains steadfast in our pursuit of the values that define Freemasonry: brotherly love, relief, and truth.
